The Macmillan CancerLine provide support and publications free of charge to people with cancer, including booklets covering practical and emotional issues for people living with cancer, their families, partners or carers. TOFS (Tracheo-Oesophageal
Fistula Support) is an organisation that
supports parents of babies born with this rare
condition (1 in 3,500 babies). Some
of the effects suffered after operations and
with digestion are similar to those experienced
by members of the OPA.
The Roy Castle Foundation Website
gives advice and help about smoking, something
that is a factor associated with the development
of oesophageal cancer. Smoking also
adds significantly to the risks of surgery.
